The Civil Code consists of a total of 9 books, of which<strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wetten.overheid.nl\/BWBR0005290\/2022-10-01\"> Civil Code Book 7<\/a>\n<\/strong> deals with &#8220;special contracts&#8221; (because the &#8220;normal contracts&#8221; have already been dealt with in Book 6).<\/p><p>Book 7 again consists of six sections. Of all types of special agreements, <strong>Section 5<\/strong> deals with rent, and within Section 5, <strong>Title 4<\/strong> deals specifically with rental housing. This contains many of the rules of law (in outline) that protect you.<\/p><p>Some regulations (such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/wetten.overheid.nl\/BWBR0014315\/2022-07-01\"> <strong>Housing Rents Implementation Act<\/strong><\/a>) and royal decrees (such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/wetten.overheid.nl\/BWBR0003237\/2022-07-01\">\n  <strong>Housing Rents Decree<\/strong>\n<\/a>) prescribe in detail how law regerls are followed and how prices are calculated.<\/p><p>Rent Help applies this kind of relevant detailed elaboration to argue your rent reduction, so we can usually convince the landlord directly that your reduction is entirely fair.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); letter-spacing: 0px;\">Even if you share the correct rules of law with the landlord, there may still be room for &#8220;interpretation.
